From the world of combustion chemistry, I bring you grilling with liquid oxygen. Do not try this at home. At least without me. Not that it would be safer, but I want to see it. (Some of you have probably seen it before; I couldn't find it on the net for quite a while.)

From the lines of the science-religion discourse, a physicist addresses how to talk to the general public about the "conflict." Probably of more interest to the scientists among the handful of readers; as a suggestion on how to approach the topic.

I find the social simulation thing tremendously cool. (I got in trouble for reading the whole thing right before--and, well, after--bedtime last night.) And I liked the science/religion article as well. (I haven't had a chance to look at the grilling thing yet; that sounds like a mere "Wow!" rather than a "fascinating", and my schedule doesn't have space for simple "Wows" this week. :) )
Since I had just enough time to view the LOX video, I chose that instead. I found it to be fascinating and wow at the same time. As a fuel, liquid oxygen really gets after it.
