The Amazing Race 9--"I'm Filthy and I Love It!"

Ah...real racing...so good. They even avoided the stupid premiere episode campout last week.

You don't have a post up for this week yet (maybe you're at March Meeting or something silly like that), so I figured I'd comment on a couple of things here before I forget. If you're avoiding spoilers for the episode on the 14th, er, don't read this.

First, I've got to admit that I didn't expect any teams to actually hook up during the race. The pinks' comment about running the race with "their hearts first and then their bodies... and then their breasts" was rather surprising, too. (I did hear that right, didn't I?)

Second, I was both amazed and amused by bossy-redneck-guy's apparent dismay at being forced to visit Russia.

Third, was it good race design or bad race design that the last place team would be on a bus alone? (I already know that it was poor design that they all ended up on the same plane after all that. But maybe limiting such things is hard.)

Fourth, is it just me, or is "Who wants to take the plunge?" a pretty big hint not to assign the roadblock to the person who's afraid of water? (Especially at a swimming pool!)

Fifth, I was floored when three teams decided to do the "scrub" detour and then proceeded to just say "follow that cab" without checking to make sure the team being followed had not picked "scour".

Finally, it gets pretty obvious that it's a "To be continued..." rather than a pit stop when there are just a couple of minutes left in the episode and no teams at all have reached the mat yet.
