Losing Kansas

This is a very good article about the Democratic party's dive to the right on economic issues and the resulting social consequences. I think this captures some of the frustrations of the 2000 Nader voters. And also why rural America is voting more Republican despite it being generally against their own economic interests.

That article was excellent. Thanks, Steve! I know a handful of communists who disagree with me on this, but that is the exact reason I am so anti-Nader. We've drifted right for 30 years, and for the ignorant masses it has been very subtle. I don't think you can yank these people left. You pick a guy like John Kerry, whom I never would have voted for 10 years ago. Then you pick a guy who is maybe a little more John Edwards. Then a guy who is a little more Howard Dean. Then eventually you can pick a guy that is a REAL liberal. Hopefully by then we'll have someone a LOT less ugly than Ralph Nader. He hit every branch on the way down the ugly tree. Geesh. Get him off tv, PLEASE! :-P
