Child process spawned
A hearty tip of the Hatblog to reader and dear friend Don, who along with his wife Sally are expecting their first youngin' in January. This finally gives me a reason to buy something from this page. I'm sure Don has already done the required mutations. The staff here at Hatblog offers its best wishes and congratulations.

For those following this story with bated breath (which seems to be no one) I thought I would give an up to the day report.
Sally and I went to Johns Hopkins today for the level 2 ultrasound to check the baby's heart. As we had hoped, baby does not take after Dad. He or she has 4 chambers in her heart which all are normal. Her Aorta and pulmonary arteries look fine. We could even see some of the valves working. This means that the baby shouldn't have any major cardiac issues like Don.
In addition to that we learned baby is about 13 oz. Does anybody know if this seems big? I have no idea. Baby has hands, feets, a spine, kidneys a cerebellum, a cortex, a corpus colusom, a skull,a stomach, all kinds of bones and a tounge which he/she stuck out at us. If I left something out of the previous list, don't worry because everything was there. Obviously we are thrilled. The baby appears healthy, at least for the standpoint of not having any major birth defects.
4 more months!

Sweet.
Don't forget to let the little tyke play in the dirt to avoid the asthma problems. :)
